no matter how chaotic it is, wildflowers still will spring up in the middle of nowhere
 Sheryl Crow
This concertina book is special to me as it is the first hand-crafted photobook I made, during an online workshop with Alex Hare, during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.
Midger Wood lies in a magical, almost hidden, valley of mossy oaks and luxurious ferns. Running through the wood is Kilcott Brook, one of the features of the reserve and my favourite spot. This 'zero footprint' project is focused on a short 20 metre stretch of the brook. The photographs were all taken in April 2020. In springtime the wood is vibrant and alive with the promise of new beginnings and the new season.
